VLC enumerate DVD tracks and titles from the command line?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

VLC enumerate DVD tracks and titles from the command line?

Postby rogerdpack » 19 Nov 2010 16:57

Hi all. I am trying to search for a semi-automated way to discover the "main" title on a DVD. It seems the normal suggestion [1] is to look over the various titles, and choose the longest or the one with most chapters.
I know VLC's Qt interface enumerates the titles etc. Is it possible to get these from the command line at all?

Thanks!

No. You should code directly against libdvdnav if you want to do that.

You can use LibVLC to enumerate tracks too. But I am not sure you will get all the informations you want.
