SAP not working in 0.8.2-test2

Postby Uwe » 08 Jun 2005 14:50

Hi,

I got the following messages from VLC0.8.2-test2
-------------------------------------------------------------
sap error: unable to read on any address
main error: no suitable services discovery module
main error: no interface module matched "sap, none"
main error: no suitable intf module
main error: interface "sap, none" initialization failed
-------------------------------------------------------------
after adding sap to the "Extra Interface-Module".

I switched back to 0.8.1 wich was working with SAP but now I got
-------------------------------------------------------------
main error: no suitable intf module
main error: interface "sap, none" initialization failed
-------------------------------------------------------------
from VLC0.8.1, too!

What can I do?
Uwe

P.S.: I'm using Win2000.

As you will see the playlist structure has changed.
And sap is now a "service discovery" and no more an interface.

So you need to change your preferences.
The quick way is to go to the preferences, reset them and then in playlist add sap, save and restart

The more subtile way is to edit your vlcrc file.

Now it is working again!

Thank you for your assistance,

aehm...
another problem has come up:

The error messages vanished.
But I can't find the SAP announcment.
There are just two folders(common, SAP) in the playlist which seems to be empty.
The messages window is crowded with
"sap debug: passing to LIVE.COM"

VLC 0.8.1 is showing the SAP session in its playlist...

What went wrong?

Do you know ahat kinf of stream are announced in this SAP.

If it's http streams it's non-standard and the developer qho has rewritten the sap module has decided to ignore them.

I'm not quite sure how to find out.
Which information in the SDP tells that HTTP is used?

I know that the stream itself is a Multicast-RTP-stream.
