Sound Out of Sync...Try to Change, Nothing Happens

Postby shneezy » 01 Apr 2011 14:41

Very simply, I have a .divx video where the audio plays a few seconds ahead of the video. When I tried to correct for this using VLC, nothing happened. I went into the audio options and plugged in various values (Extended Settings - Synchronization - Advance of audio over video), and then went into advanced audio settings (in preferences) and played with Audio synchronization compensation. Nothing ever changed, no matter how I messed with the settings or how often I restarted VLC. Are these tools/preferences essentially useless? If not, how do you get them to do anything? I know that the Audio synchronization compensation is in milliseconds, so I tried setting it for 7000, then 200000, then a million...nothing ever happened. In extended settings, it's just in seconds, but nothing happened still...
