2 questions about VLC..help plz :D

VLC rulez btw...i love playing .bin files with it...but i have to ask 2 things...
how do i change the brightness level? any way i can do it?
how do i change the size of the output video in fullscreen mode? i tried with the zoom function but it only zooms in and deosn't actually change the size of the output movie..
help plz..

thx ...i haven;t noticed the extended gui feature ..
what about the movie size? can i change it somehow?
i mean while in full screen to increase the vetrical viewing size in widescreen movies...???
