VLC crashes with MKV files seeking

Postby quasibaka » 22 Jan 2011 14:31

VLC ( latest version) Crashes whenever I do the following :
Play MKV file ... ( tried h264 , xvid , aac and mp3 codecs in it .. all give same result)
play at "2.0x" or "1.5x" ( basically fast forwarding)...
seek using "shift + ->" or " ctrl + ->" ...

error message appears saying VLC crashed and asks whether to send bug report ... I have sent literally dozens of such bug reports ...
Tried various files ... SD , HD , 720p , 1080p , and from various sources ....
Tried turning all the options under preferences -> input/output -> filters -> Matroska on and off , But same result :(
Same problem with Gom Player or If I use Halli Media Splitter ..

Not really the biggest problem but I always watch anime in Fast-forward ( not a big fan of long silences and slow dialogues)
and when I try to skip through the credits or such It crashes ...

Thnx :)

Did you try with temporal audio stretching disabled in the audio preferences?
