Streaming video with VLC 4.4.4

Postby floridapossum » 19 Jan 2011 10:50

I have windows 7 although I don't think that is relevant. All I want to do is to be able to stream videos. I can find no clear instructions on how to do it on the current VLC version 4.4.4. I feel like an idiot, but nothing I try works. Can someone please tell me how to set this up?

Thank you

Not sure what VLC 4.4.4 is? Current is 1.1.5

This should cover it

For simplicity at first, try a .wmv video and choose the "wmv - wma" in the Transcode profile dropdown box in the "Destinations window"

Default port is 8080 leave it at that on the server and also enter that on the client
The client no longer has a dropdown box in "Open Network Stream", so you will have to enter it manually Eg
