Youtube Videos on a CD won't open in VLC

I have to small youtube videos on a cd. When I open my dvd drive both files are there and I drag them over to VLC on my desktop.
I select open disk and them check off SVCD/VDC and hit play... I then get a message " VLC is unable to open the MRL...check log for details.
Why is this happening.... and where is the log. I want to view them on VLC so that I can slow the speed down and look at some detail.

Open "disc" is meant to open Audio CDs, DVD Videos and such, only. If you want to play normal video files stored on an a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM, you need to open "file".
