Blu-Ray Subtitles In MKV Problem

Postby skintbeggar@me.com » 18 Nov 2010 23:26

Hi - I am new to VLC and I have seen this problem referred to in a couple of older posts but could not find any solution.

I have used MakeMKV to create an MKV file containing a subtitle file (the codec says "HDMV PGS Subtitles"), along with the video and audio from a Blu-Ray disc. The video and sound work fine in VLC, and the subtitles appear at the correct moment - but when people stop speaking and there should be no subtitles on screen, the last subtitle shown stays in place. As soon as someone starts speaking again the last subtitle will disappear - and the current one will display correctly - but each time there is a pause and the screen should be clear of text, the last word spoken remain on screen.

Any assistance with this problem would be much appreciated. I am running VLC version 1.1.5 on an iMac running Snow Leopard (10.6.5).

What do you need for a sample?
For testing purposes and the ability to reproduce the issue at will and then to fix it.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant what information or files do you need from me for this sample? Sorry for my ignorance - I'm new :)
