DVDs won't play unless I click the IFC file

Postby jls » 13 Nov 2010 18:47

Hi:

I am a newly registered member but have been using VLC player for several years. Recently have had the following problem:
I click on "open disc" then click on play and the dvd menu comes up. I click on "play movie" and VLC player goes back to itself.
I've found that if I "OPEN" the DVD and click on the IFC file in the Video TS folder then the movie menu item "Play Movie" will work fine and the movies plays as expected. I have several versions of VLC player and they all are doing this.

It's really not a problem to have to open the the Video TS folder and click on the IFC file but I know that VLC player should play the DVD without having to do that. Any suggestions? Thanks, JLS

Opening the device node of the DVD player, or the drive letter works.
