subtitles displayed off-center, cut

Pls help. I tried playing a couple of DVDs on VLC but the subtitles aren't displayed right- they are off center so parts of the subs are cut and can't be seen. Its the player bcoz i tired playing the same DVDs on WMP and they displayed ok. Is there something i have to do to fix this? Im such a newbie so pls help. hehe i wanted to insert a screenshot but i have no idea how to! hehe... tnx.I really want to watch my movies on VLC.
