Hello,
I am using VLC on a laptop connected to a TV. The controls on the computer screen and the video is displayed on a TV.
My problem: When the video being played ends, the video window closes, resulting in the TV displaying my desktop wallpaper. When I start a new video, the video window will then open on my computer screen, so I have to drag it to the TV screen and put it in fullscreen again.
This is for a game at a theme party, and I really want to avoid any "Windows stuff" showing up on the TV, since that easily breaks the atmosphere. And also, the contestants need to be able to see the last frame from the video for the game to work.
Ideally, I want VLC to pause when it reaches the end of a video, so the last frame from the video is frozen on the screen. Is this possible somehow?
If not, is it possible to achieve with a LUA script? I spend most of my time programming, so writing a LUA script is not completely out of the question, but I am of course unfamiliar with the API for interacting with VLC.
Edit: Actually VLC opens the video window on my computer screen regardless of whether a video was already playing on the TV. In this case the TV also switches to my desktop wallpaper. Also very annoying.
