Timecode reset after about 70+ mins in RMVB playback

Postby nghk » 05 Oct 2010 08:25

I would like to report a bug that's easy to reproduce.

Open any RMVB video file that is lengthy (e.g. total length is 1hr30mins or more). Seek to any location beyond 1hr10mins. The playback correctly jumps to the new location and plays from there, but the timecode will reset to a much smaller value (e.g. 21m05s) and continue counting up. The reset seems to be at different random time for different RMVB video files, but always happen after at least 1hr10mins of playback.

This bug interferes with subtitle processing (Video > Subtitles Track > Open File...) whereby the subtitle will not show once the timecode has reset back to 0m0s at a random location after 1hr10mins. There is no problems at all with picture playback.

The problem exists on both VLC 1.1.4 for Windows and VLC 1.1.3 for MacOS. Only occurs for RMVB format, not other video formats.
