Postby klumy » 21 Sep 2010 20:48

Hello,

using Xmedia Encoder with following entries will produce videos which can not be played via VLC ipad app(1,5GB file)
Is this an error of the videoformat or of vlc?

Just for reference will the same files play in the desktop version of VLC?
Providing logs, messages, configuration info (VLC, OS, Hardware) and a clear explanation of the issue always helps the problem solvers help you, even if they don't end up solving the issue. Just think what you would need if you were solving someone else's problem. Additional: Always looking for eager and capable MacOS X developers to join the VLC team - for more information see here.

Your iPad is likely to have a too slow CPU to decode this video. There is nothing we can do about it with the API published by Apple.

But all iPads are the same, aren't they? Regardless of what model you buy they all have the same CPU, the same RAM, the same graphics processors. If the VLC app isn't working on his iPad (nor my iPad), why would it be different for the millions of other iPads out there?

And if the App can't work on the iPad, why did they release it in the first place?

Because all videos are different and don't need the same CPU power to decode...

You should be a bit less aggressive, if you don't want to be banned.
