Internet Sync Question

Quick question, sort of a "is it possible, if so through what magical hackery" inquiry:

If a friend and I both have the exact same file on each of our computers, and want to sync up the playback of those files so we're watching them at precisely the same time, is there a way to do that through VLC? It would be a great boon to me personally if I could figure out some method for doing this, as an hour of googling hasn't turned up much of substance at all.
