VLCs output

Does VLC give any file or documentation about the quality of a video stream? i need a file that says: "this video stream is ok or ko"

Well that's a bit hard to say. usually no video stream is ever perfect, especially during streaming. At most you can say something about the percentage of degredation, but it's impossible to say which amount of degredation constitutes as a bad stream, and which is still usuable.

hi, thanks for answering my question,

I have another one. When vlc is going to decode a stream, I hace read that it chooses the appropiate decoder. Do you know how the program makes this? may be it uses one decoder, and it looks at the decoded sequence, and if there it stuttering problems, it discarts it?
