Media Keys

I've been using VLC for years. Just did a clean install of my system, but now VLC is giving me some minor issues. I have always had ALT+ Media Prev/Next Track set as the hotkey for short 10 seconds jumps forwards/backwards and it has always worked fine.

However, since re-installing, when I hit the hotkey combination now, it just jumps back to the beginning of the video files (AVI mostly). Any guess what may be causing this?
