vlc 0.8.1 sound trouble

Postby Corto » 11 Apr 2005 11:36

Hello i have the same trouble with vlc 0.8.1 and 0.7.2 under Linux:
[00000220] a52 decoder: A/52 channels:1 samplerate:48000 bitrate:192000
[00000222] main audio output error: couldn't find a filter for the conversion
[00000222] main audio output error: couldn't set an input pipeline
I don't know where i can fix that.
I was looking for an answer on your forum without result.

Another trouble:
I use vlc on two PC under Linux Slackware 10.1. With one i have not more trouble but on the second one VLC 0.8.1 starts and completes with a segmentation fault.
Any idea are welcomed.

Thank you.

For my second problem, i modified the libvlc.c file to comment the LoadPlugins call.
Now, VLC starts the long help.

1: you don't have liba52 installed and therefore vlc wasn't compiled with a52 decoding support (or if you use packages, then the packages were configured this way)

2: when you get such errors that usually means that you have older (outdated) vlc plugins somewhere in your installation.
Don't use PMs for support questions.
