Spec of.srt subtitle files

Postby maitrepiet » 22 Jul 2010 11:05

Hi there,
I was wondering if there exists a spec of the .srt subtitle format the VLC can handle.

I know there is http://wiki.videolan.org/SubRip

But how can I influence the position of the subtitle? I would like to have it at the top of the screen and centered in the middle.

Is this possible?

OK, thanks.

I also have the following problem: when I start vlc by clicking on a file e.g. videoref.mpg with associated videoref.srt, the subtitles are automatically displayed correctly.

However, if I use the RC interface and use add videoref.mpg, the subtitles do not get displayed. I tried the command strack 1 but that does not help.
Could you help me here please?
