Using VLC options

Hi. This is my first post and I was looking for an answer but this information is very difficult (that is, technical - half of the terms I don't even know what they are or what they do). But I love VLC, it was downloaded clean for me by my computer manufacturer after their own products had multiple failures. All I use VLC for is to watch DVDs on my computer and I use it almost every day for hours because I am disabled. So I just wanted to thank the members of the project for all of the time and effort to have created this video player (which is what I'd call it given that I just watch stuff and don't have a clue about how to use it for anything else).

When I look at the pull-down menus I am intrigued my most of the options but afraid to change anything because for the way I use it, it's perfect. Just wanted to register so that if I ever do try to use one of the options and mess things up, I'd know where to come to ask about an answer. This is the all-time best product to do what I use it for of about 6 different other products I've tried. - Liza
