VLC can't recognize the input's format

VLC can't recognize the input's format

Hello. I recovered some shift-deleted .flv files and when i try to open them with VLC player it says this message VLC can't recognize the input's format:
The format of 'D:\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' cannot be detected. Have a look the log for details. What should I do ?

Rename them to whatever.flv.

Rename them to whatever.flv.
I tried but still doesn't work. It works only for the .avi / .wmv files i recovered.

Sounds like the file is corrupt

hi, i got this error msg: "VLC does not support the audio or video format "undf". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this." however it did play the file earlier

Delete preferences and cache.
