ive always had the same problem here, i always assumed it had to do w/ the vbr length problem i read about, but since someone mentioned it working fine converted to mkv...
the only examples i have on hand i just checked were in dx50/vorbis and xvid/vorbis, if that helps.
for me, skipping 10sec and 1min or 5 minutes makes it jump to the beginning where, ratio-wise, it seems to be where it would be if it really was this bloated length (for example, 24 min file listed as 1:57, jumping 5 minutes makes it jump to 2:29-ish.) i assume it can't jump around because it doesnt know how much 10 seconds is.
on the xvid/vorbis combo, no duration is even given. and therefore "jumping" simply goes to the very beginning.
and yes, it works perfectly well with mkv files with the same codec combos.
hope a fix is found... i love my current setup using a gamepad to control my "media" box but a big part of what makes it work is the ability to jump in increments of 10sec/1min/5min easily.
im curious as to whether there's a way to manually enter a duration as a temporary fix...
