I recently bought a HP DV8 laptop largely to use for watching and editing videos shot with my GoPro HD camera. The first video I watched was shot with the camera mounted upside down on my helmet as I rode my motor bike through the hills. When I use VLC's 'Geometry' effect to flip the image I notice the video becomes just a little jumpy. It seems to be smooth when showing the footage upside down but a little 'frammie' when rotated. The video, however, is completely smooth when shown on my desktop, even when rotated.
Is it possible to display the number of frames being rendered so I can tell exactly what is happening?
