vlc as RTSP server Transport: issue

Postby ccie16798 » 22 May 2010 00:59

hello,

i try to play a video from a vlc server behind a firewall and he resets the connection after the SEUP OK from the server
; i think he thinks the server SETUP response is invalid
unfortunately i dont have the vlc server version but i reproduce here with vlc 1.0.6 as server

client asks:
Transport: RTP/AVP;unicast;client_port=1048-1049
server replies
Transport: RTP/AVP/UDP;client_port=1048-1049;server_port=48162-48163

shouldn't he answer Transport: RTP/AVP/UDP;unicast;client_port=1048-1049;server_port=48162-48163

as multicast is the default value?
is there a way to force vlc server to include the "unicast" keyword?

rfc 2326 section 12.39 Transport
unicast | multicast:
mutually exclusive indication of whether unicast or multicast
delivery will be attempted. Default value is multicast.

that just a guess the firewall is proprietary and not very informative about the drop...

thank you
etienne

Yes, it should. That will be fixed in VLC 1.1.0.
