Strange behaviour after resuming HTTP / MJPG playback

Hello!

When I pause a MJPG Stream (Axis Webcam for example) and play it after waiting a few seconds the playback is stuttering. The frame rate is very low (<0.1 fps) and the stream is still playing but with a big delay. I think that this is not the intended behaviour, is it a bug? I am a software developer but not familiar with the videolan source code, but I would expect that vlc first buffers and later drops the frames/HTTP data while pausing and resumes to regular playback after pressing play. Does anyone know the cause of this behaviour?
