VLC remote control compatibility

Postby joeb » 11 May 2010 12:56

I have been trying, without success, to use VLC with a media remote control (latest attempt with an Interlink VP6600R). It appears that VLC uses non-standard calls (or at least non M$ standard, though I haven't heard of anyone having success with Mac, either). Is there any way to get VLC to accept basic commands from a "standard" media remote?

I can adjust volume, but not VLC volume - only system volume. I can actually control Windows Media Player with the remote, but I _hate_ WMP. The only negative I have found with VLC is that it will not (or at least I cannot get it to) accept commands from the remotes I have tried with it.

I am running VLC 1.0.3 Goldeneye.
