VLC on HTC HD2

Hello,
Do you mean only the UI is missing? Apologies for the stupid questions, but does it mean running VLC from the console is possible on WinCE?
It's not going to happen with people hopes. It's going to happen with people putting their money where their mouth is and funding a developper for a WinME UI.

You can compile VLC from source for WinCE and run it as CLI, yes.

Hello,
So far we have used proprietary solution of media player + file parsers + codecs running on the AV DSP in our products. Now we plan to start supporting an open source media framework such as VLC. The selected media framework would interface with our codecs on DSP.

Perhaps being new to open source world, I could not find my way to the information that I am looking for. May I request you to point me to location where I can find information on VLC memory footprint and porting guide for WinCE.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

if you need a device to work with, I can most likely send you an HTC with WM 6.5 on it.
if that is what it would take to help expedite the process, I would be happy to.

let me know.

and, NO, I don't have extras for just anyone, please don't ask. =)

There is a INSTALL.wince file at the root of the source tree. There is also some help on the wiki.

VLC is most popular and open-source media player for desktop operating systems.So it is also preferred and suits for Windows Mobile.

VLC 8* version still works far better than any VLC 9* series for streaming , Mplayer/mencoder seems far more stable for cross platform streaming Encoding these days.
