How to save settings

Postby dmpop » 15 Mar 2005 17:07

Here is another question from a newbie. Every time I want to record a net stream, I have to go through all the options and fill out different fields. For example, I have to enter an URL, choose Encapsulating option, transcoding, etc. I wonder if there is a way to save all this setting, so I don't have to enter them every single time?

Thank you!

Kind regards,
Dmitri

Thank you for your reply. Actually, I've found a solution. Since you can run VLC from command line, you create a .BAT file (on Windows XP) which looks something like this:

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" http://vruk.sc.llnwd.net:12265 :sout=#transcode{acodec=mp3,ab=128,channels=2}:duplicate{dst=display,dst=std{access=file,mux=raw,url="C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\filename.mp3"}}
Kind regards,
Dmitri
