Play and record stream simultaneously

Postby dmpop » 14 Mar 2005 23:46

I'm new to VLC, and I apologise if my question is too obvious. I'd like to record a network stream, but I have two problems:

1. If I tick the Dump raw output check box, nothing happens. The output file doesn't appear in a specified location, and VLC doesn't play the stream.

2. If I choose an encapsulation method, like MPEG TS, then VLC records the stream, but it doesn't play it while recording. Does it supposed to be like that, or am I doing wrong?

I've searched the forums, but I couldn't find any solutions.

Than you!

Kind regards,
Dmitri

When you open the stream, check the "Stream Output" box and then click on "Settings". Under "Output methods" you can choose "File" and put in the file name for recording. You can also select "Play locally", and it will display the video on stream also.

Hope that helped, and made sense.
