Yellow screen turned into smurt... help....

Postby ghostling » 11 Mar 2005 15:32

i'm sitting by my girlfriends laptop, and trying watching "love hina" Videolan play'ed it fine till i played the six episode. rigth from the start of that episode (it's episode 6-8 that are the problem... the other seems to be fine) it displayed the video, but with a large yellow highligthing strippe, where all the colors become yellow. i've search the forum, try to fix the problem and this: viewtopic.php?t=3002&highlight=yellow
i did as it said, and et work the yellow strippe is gone, but now it's making blue shadows of everything that moves.... i'm getting pretty pissed of rigth now... been using 2 hours trying to fix it. so do any one know what to do ?? i've searched smurf to, and adjusting grafficgard doesn't work

that is how it looks now when the yellow stripe is gone:

i'm using VLC media player 0.8.1 (wxWindows Interface)

cheers Ghostling

ps: don't tell me to search on smurf... i've all ready done that, and it doesn't give me any useful tips, becourse they only tell me to atjust from 24 bit to 32 bit, this is an laptop, i can only chose betwin 16 or 32 bit, no matter if it is 16 or 32 bit i still make this color smurf!

I have seen this before. A ghost image in the video itself. Try searching the forum for Ghost and directx.

Try playing witht the Preferences->Modules->video-output->directX options (be sure to check the "Advanced options" checkbox at the bottom of the prefs. and restarting your video after saving your changes.

To me it looks like a driver issue with direct rendering of the video.
