Problems with menus in VLC

Postby woland » 11 Mar 2005 15:52

Hello!

I've got a strange problem: if I start VLC everything seems to be all right, but instead of displaying some items it just presents me with the grey background. Not every item is invisible, but Files and Help menus are very incomplete. Although the items are not showing up , clicking on an item starts the corresponding task.
I'm using Debian/Unstable Kernel 2.6.8-2-686.
Gnome 2.8
Now for the best part: The same software is installed on a second pc with the same configuration. There are no problems with the menus. While I tried to reinstall it, there was no change. On a different, third configuration I've got the same error.

Tnx in advance!

Woland

Ps.: I deleted the config file from ~/.vlc as suggested in the forum/faq but it didn'help.

It's due to a regression in wxWindows ( the graphical toolkit used).

You can either install the development version ( htt://videolan.org/~videolan) or use

Code: Select all

LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 vlc
