Video in .mkv file, audio in ac3, synchronization.

Postby kautko » 08 Aug 2007 21:07

Situation:

video is in .mkv file.
audio track of this video is in .ac3 file.

Is it possible to configure vlc media player - to play .mkv file and play audio track from .ac3 file together?

If yes, then how can i configure player to do so?

I forget to write , that there is one audio track imbedded in .mkv file.

So there is:
1.) blabla.mkv with embedded audio track in language_1
2.) seperate file blabla.ac3 in language_2

I typed Your command in command line.

After that - audio track (form blabla.ac3) , can be selected in "audio/audio track".

Video starts to play with imbedded audio track in background (and it's fine). If i choose the language_2, video is not enjoyable anymore. It shows some random pictures or shows nothing ... (it's bad - it more looks like slide show, not video).

I want to watch video in language_2.

So , what are your ideas?

And where can i see available command line options (i didn't find "--input-slave" in online documentation)?

Hi everyone,

I have a similar problem that I cannot seem to solve. My video is in a .mkv file while the audio associated with it is in a SEPERATE AC3 file.
Is there a way to merge the 2 files? Or at least a way to play the audio so that it is synchronized with the video file?

Thanks,

Snickers

Hi J-B,

I did research on the VideoLan website and on the VLC Wiki, but can't seem to find how to access the ''command'' fonction of VLC. Could you explain to me how this is done in details?

Thanks!
