Going beyond max preset bit rate of 3072

Postby navstar » 20 Feb 2010 19:29

  • I posted this in the Mac OS X forums, but realized it's not platform specific.

I'm trying to encode a 1600x1200 Quicktime with audio into a muxed MPEG-2 .mpg or .m2v. The max bitrate of 3072kbps is just too low for a movie of that resolution. How can I tell it to have a higher data rate (>10Mbps)?

I'd really like to avoid the CLI if possible. Any VLC preference or files I can modify to increase the max bitrate beyond 3072?
