For three days I have been trying to figure out how to use VLC Media Player to save to file a broadcast (that may not be the correct term; when rt. clicking on video player within Firefox browser, it says "About JW Player 4.1.60). I'm not sure if I'm using the correct settings, but at last the program is reporting "streaming" although it quits and gives me the error message: Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL . . . This broadcast does play on my computer, but I can't get it to be recorded by VLC.
This is the log [by the way, it took me a long time to even find the log—may I suggest instead of saying, "Check the log for details", say "Go to Tools>Messages and change the Verbosity Level at the bottom to 2 to get Log details.
