Error log

Just a simple query for starters: I tried to stream from an rtmp server and got an error message telling me that VLC was unable to open the MRL in question (se below) However, the error message also said (translated from Swedish): "Check the log for further detail." Pardon the unitiated but where do I find this log? There is no log neither in the vlc folder under Application Data nor under programs/VideoLAN/vlc as far as I'm able to find.

I strongly suspect that the reason that VLC is unable to stream/save from this particular server is that it doesn't allow it - it's a flash server owned by Swedish tv (svt.se/play) but it would be nice to have that confirmed by a clearer error message possible to be found in the log referred to.

Just for technical detail: I run VLC 1.0.1 at the moment on a Windows XP (SP 3). This is a work PC which I don't have administrative rights to if this might be relevant for the possible non-saving of a log file created by VLC.
