VLC on HTC HD2

Postby dob2806 » 22 Dec 2009 00:32

Hi guys,

I'm a new owner of an HTC HD2,with Windows Mobile 6.5.
I'd like to know if there is any version of my favourite media player "VLC" available for it ?

PS: I've tried the WinCe version, but it didn't work...

Thanks all.

Dob.

Sorry for my bad English.

The project isn't stopped on WinCE... It just lacks an interface so far.

Hi guys,

Excuse me if my question is a bit stupid, but what do you mean by an interface ?

Thanx.

A user interface, with the playback control buttons, dialogs to open and configure things, a playlist...

yes, it is kind of difficult... And you need a device to do so.

My question may sound as stupid but why don't you ask for beta tester ? or why not (yes we could dream...) ask from HTC for a device ;) ;)

Or why not ask for someone's help at the XDA forum ?

Writing a proper interface takes a lot of time. And it has to be done for each and every device (at least every screen resolution and platform). This is unlikely to go to completion without a commercial(ly supported) developer. Unless you have a company who can afford to hire a developer, you had better not count on it :?

You can put the ActiveX without vlc.exe, but you need pretty much everything else, so it is kinda pointless (you won't save much space).

It's not for saving space..

I use a browser,to go to mij home webserver, thats running a script, what let me look at my tv from home.but the browser on my phone needs activx from vlc.

i don't need the player, because it's played from within the website.

It's not going to happen with people hopes. It's going to happen with people putting their money where their mouth is and funding a developper for a WinME UI.

I'll put $50 down for a Windows Mobile supported VLC (v6.1 and v6.5).
