Problem with VLC through a HDMI switch

Postby DirtyHarry » 27 Nov 2009 11:26

I have a problem when playing VLC on my HTPC through a HDMI switch. The screen on my TV becomes black. I can see the Desktop on the TV, but I can't play VLC

Is there som special setting that has to be done in VLC?

You need to set the primary CRTC of your video adapter to the HDMI output if at all possible. For instance, Linux, this is done with xrandr.

Otherwise, you need to disable video acceleration, but this might make the rendering slow and/or CPU intensive.
