How do you select a certain audio track when converting.

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

How do you select a certain audio track when converting.

Postby dsync » 09 Oct 2008 22:55

Hi All,

I have a file (asf) with 2 audio channels ( 20k/48k ). The VLC player defaults (track1) to the 20k stream which is garbage ( as in corrupted / no sound ) this is not a big deal since I can swap to track 2 and obviously this has nothing to do with the player itself. However When I convert the file, everything works fine except the audio being pulled is always from track 1 which is the 20k file.

How can I specify (command or otherwise) for audio data from track 2 to be pulled instead during conversion/streaming?

I figured it out. Its --audio-track=1 (for audio track 2) as part of the input filename or from the command line if you must.
