cant hear voices

cant hear voices

hi, i have a 5.1 soundcard and im having some problems when watching movies with vlc and have the 5.1 input able. i can only hear the background sound of the movie, cant hear the conversations or the other sounds. only when i change to stereo when i can hear all the sounds.my windows setting are sett to 5.1 and i also had the same problem with my other sound-card. so its not sound-card that its the problem. some1 pls help me :D

If you don't have 5.1 speakers but the computer is set to 5.1 then its doesn't work. I had the same issue. I don't know why it works that way.

Hello.
I want to know that while playing some videos recorded on mobile phones, the videos play as mute. After increasing the voice, it still remain mute. What will be and where will be the problem ?

i have 5.1 speakers and and soundcard. i had the same problem with another 5.1 soundcard. so it must be some kind of settings in my windows or vlc settings.pls help!

well the thing is all movies that i download with 5.1 option is like that. not a certain movie or file.

Set the output module to DirectX and set it to 5.1:
Tools -> Preferences (All) -> Audio -> Output modules = DirectX audio output
Tools -> Preferences (All) -> Audio -> Output modules -> DirectX -> Select speakers configuration = 5.1

Then save, exit and restart VLC.

If it still doesn't work then post the messages log with verbosity set to 2.
