Apparently something like a "default start time" is set to 14:42 on my system for MP3 files. How can I change it to 0:00?
I recently upgraded from VLC 0.8 to 1.0 on my Windows XP system. The Explorer association with audio types MP3 and WAV is "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --started-from-file "%1". This opens a long MP3 /WAV at time frame 14:42 and continues playing from there. A shorter MP3 /WAV file does not start playing automatically and I cannot get it to play at all. The same result happens when I open a file from the the "Media, Open File..." dialog box.
I changed the Explorer association with types MP3 and WAV to "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --start-time=0 "%1". This opens the long MP3 / WAV at time frame 0:00 and continues playing from there. The shorter MP3 / WAV file also plays correctly. I get the same result when I open a file from the "Media, Open File..." dialog box.
When I start VLC from the Start Menu and open a file from the "Media, Open File..." dialog box, it again attempts to start at time frame 14:42.
