put sub in black zone in rezise

hello all ,
first sorry for my n00by english.

im french ,and all see all movie is in english ,
but all subtitle are on movie zone ,
(subtile file is .srt )
so can i put subtitle in reseize zone ,
in alot of movie i got black zone top & bottom screen (like movie 16/9 on 4/3 tv )

so im little far from my screen and it's hard to read sub over picture ,
but i have try in VLC option to move sub in no movie zone ,but i dont have found

i got police = character of letter ,
taille = size , color ,effect
and change position of subtitle , i have try +200 to -200 , 50 by 50 ,
but i cant move it away from movie ,

so ,i have miss something ??
or need update VLC ??
