Ok, here is the problem: If I play a DVD without the menus, CPU usage for VLC is about 12-17%. When I try to play the same DVD, but with the menus on this time, the movie plays fine, but CPU usage is abnormally high, say 25-33%. On some other DVDs, I even got 42% spike. Needless to say, all the audio/subtitle options are the same in both cases.
Is this a quirk of VLC or something else? It doesn't cause any particular inconvenience, but I don't think it's normal my T2500 to be brought to it's near limits by a DVD player, so it's might be a performance bug. And why the performance is better when the menus are not activated?
Also, I have noticed that the problem doesn't exist in earlier versions of VLC.
Thanks,
