autoplay from USB stick

Postby stan101 » 07 Oct 2009 18:47

Hi, and firstly a thousand and one appologies if this has been done over a thousand times already.

My friend has VLC installed on her pc (Vista) and I have given her a memory stick with an .avi file on it.

However she is completely computer illeterate and gets herslef very, very flustered if I try to explain anything.

Is there and autoplay etc. command that I could put onto the stick/avi file that would make it start up VLC on her machine and/or play the file with just her plugging it in?

I have tried the task of simply talking her through opening the file and selecting play but as I said she gets very flustered and worries about "breaking the machine".

also...the reason that she can't just click on the files and play them straight off is that for other reasons they need their media file associations to stay as WMP and not VLC.

Many thanks in advance.

Ship the vlc zip file unzipped.
Put the .avi file there too
Make an autorun that has "vlc.exe file.avi"
