1.0.0 Customize Interface: Crashes, Can't Save, Etc.

Postby FidelCastoroil » 27 Jul 2009 08:48

When trying to customize the interface:

1. It crashes when moving the icons, both on and off the interfaces;
2. Attempts to save changes to a profile -- existing or custom -- don't save;
3. Changes don't appear on either the regular or fullscreen interfaces;
4. I've no idea as to where to go to pick an interface profile;
5. Seppuku, based on my inability to fix all this, is looking like an option.

Anyone else having these problems? Any answers (except for those re seppuku; that seems fairly straightforward)?

Thanks.

1. Crashes should be fixed in 1.0.1 for Windows

Else, your preferences and screwed up. Delete %appdata%/vlc folder.

I WAS having a similar difficulty with the "Customize Interface" feature in VLC 1.0.1 for Windows...

Easy enough, just drag the options to their respective places.. At first, my customizations were not saving or showing up AT ALL, and they would disappear from their original locations in the minimized mode... After confirming in both the TOOLS heading and PREFERENCES that you wish to see the ADVANCED CONTROLS, everything went according to plan when I restarted VLC.

I AM very grateful for this superior player! (as are everyone I plug VLC into!)
Thank you! Donations are definitely on their way!
