Discontinuities

Postby FoxholeNorman » 06 Sep 2009 20:56

Hello all,

I wrote a program to receive udp packets from a device that is encoding video in Mpeg2 transport stream. The video is multicasted from the encoder to a switch, and then sent to my recording platform. I am getting tons of discontinuities in the logs from VLC; however, the video playback is fine. If I take the file to a different media player though, like windows media, it looks really bad. All my program does is use revcfrom() to get the packets and then fwrite() to write it to an SD card. The platform is a gumstix 600Mhz arm-based computer. I'd love to know if there is something I can do, whether it be in vlc or in my program to get correct ordering.

Thanks,

Fox
