VLC 0.7.2 Win2k Logitech iTouch Media Keys not working

Postby Guest » 02 Jun 2004 01:49

Hi everyone,

I just installed VLC 0.7.2 and I like it so far.
The one thing that I noticed is that my Logitech wireless keyboard media keys are not working.
I've had similar problems with other players in the past and that was usually resolved by adding a line in the Players.ini of Logitech's iTouch software.
However I could not find any info on this for the VLC media player.
I tried to figure out what to add myself (armed with SPY++), but I haven't been able to get it to work.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Just got it to work on VLC 0.8.4-test2 and iTouch 2.22.289 on Windows XP Pro.

Just do the folowing:
- Add the line below to the players.ini in the iTouch directory
- End task iTouch.exe, and start it again (or reboot if you prefer)
- See if it works.

Code: Select all

VLC=cmd,vlc.exe,wxWindowClassNR,VLC media player,xxx,0x132C8,0x132C8,0x132CB,0x132D5,0x132D6,0,1,VLC media player

Hi,

tryed your solution and it worked out fine - as long as i used the default skin.
Is where any way to use the itouch buttons with the chaos or winamp skin?

Next/Previous Video Button

Heyho!
I added ESPNSTIs line in the players.ini and the "pause" and "stop" keys work great.
But I got also the "next title" and "previous title" button which don't play the next/previous item in the playlist...
I am using WinXP Pro with Itouch Version 2.22.289.0 and VLC Version 0.8.5_test1.
My Keyboard is the "Logitech Internet Navigator™ Keyboard" (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downl ... entid=5293)

Thanks in advance!
Tom

Has anyone figured out how to make Video Lan work with an MX 5000??

Thanks,

Jtrade

Hello, i want to know where do you find this code : 0x132C8,0x132C8,0x132CB,0x132D5,0x132D6
because i want to implement the short backwards jump and short forward jump to my logitech keyboard instead of next and previous

Thank you in advance

I found that the solution posted here did not work for me.

But after a bit of experimenting I got the following working. So far I got it going with GGGrey Skin, Dalin Media Player Skin. I found that it didn't work for WMP11 skin (it should work but doesn't). Doesn't bother me too much since I only really use Dalin Media Player Skin.

This is what I use

Code: Select all

VLC=key,vlc.exe,SkinWindowClass,default name,xxx, , ,S,P,N,0,1,VLC

After some more experimenting I got this

Code: Select all

VLC=cmd,vlc.exe,SkinWindowClass,default name,xxx,0x132C8,0x132C8,0x132CB,0x132D5,0x132D6,0,1,VLC media player
This seams to have more skin compatibility and works with GGGrey, Dalin Media PLayer, WMP11 and default Skins2 skins.

I should mention its tested with VLC 0.8.6a, Logitech Cordless Elite (iTouch 2.22.289)

Hello,
I've added ESPNSTI's line in my players.ini configuration file, but I still don't see VLC in the list of players after hitting the "Media" key on my Logitech iTouch Keyboard. The Play/Pause button doesn't work either.
I have VLC 0.9.8a. Has anyone any idea why ?

The reason ESPNSTI's line does not work is that VLC player has changed since then...it won't work with versions after 0.9.xx.

I have not yet found the solution either, but I think it might be associated with the change in interface. The previous command had "wxWindowClassNR", but VLC player has switched to a qt4 interface.
