VLC 1.0.0 BUG: goom + psychedelic = crash

[Modium]

VLC v1.0.0 running in WinXP on intel core duo.

when starting [audio]->[visualizations]->[goom]
and [Tools]->[Effects and filters]->[Video Effects Upper tab]->[Image modification lower tab]->[psychedelic check box]

the result is crash: either non responding and audio is looping the last second or so, or XP completely shuts it down.
the order of the two actions above is non-important.

my guess is that it is not XP related and can be reproduced on other platforms.
