Annoying auto resize when playing DVD ?

Postby drakedrake » 28 Jun 2009 22:21

When I'm playing a dvd in VLC and resize the window, it pops out to 1:1 size after a short while. And it really pissing me off xD as I usually watch movies with vlc running up in the corner of the screen.
But it's only when playing dvd movies, with any other files I have on my computer it works just fine.

Have anyone tried the same? and even better, does anyone know how to "fix it :)

What about unticking "Resize interface to video size" (first screen of preferences) ? It should work for all type of videos.

The parameter is available in vlc1.0.0

The thing is, it auto-resizes to the DVD size on each chapter, I think someone should look into it.
Because unticking the autoresize in Preferences, you have to play with the zoom once you want it to be fullscreen...

I have this problem too. It is extremely annoying, unless I'm on full screen the video resizes after every chapter - it doesn't matter which option I use. That "Resize interface to video size" option makes no difference.

I've tested it on a DVD with chapters too

- by default, if you resize a window, the new size is not kept when a chapter changes (it is back to 1:1). I would say this is a bug :(
- if you uncheck "Resize interface to video size" and make sure to quit and restart (changes are not taken into account right away), the size you select is kept during the lifetime of a playlist.

Usually, the following setting is appreciated:
- select "Complete" as "display mode"
- uncheck "Resize interface to video size"

This gives a vlc that only resizes when YOU decide so.
