For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

H.264 DVB-T channel will not play. (codec issue?)

Postby andycap » 17 May 2009 01:55

When i try to play back a 720p HD stream with dvb-t tuner, i can see the first frame and then it freezes (the image, not vlc). If I try playing the same channel through WMC, it works fine. Also on the side note, this is not my issue (hardware or software incompatibility). Everyone who can receive this stream have all reported failures with vlc. The broadcaster of this channel is "Levira" and the channel name is "ETV HD Test", there's actually 2 versions of this channel - one 720p and the other 1080i, however I could only test the 720p.
Im using VLC 1.0.0-RC1-20090514. I tried playing it also on stable 0.9.9 - but then i would only get a black output with 720p resolution...
Here is the log of VLC 1.0.0-RC1 after i opened this channel (verbosity level 2): http://pastebin.com/f9ed49af
Here is a 55 seconds long raw .ts sample of the stream: http://pint.als.ee/t47v/20090517_0009_E ... est_cut.ts
