Random not so random on first run

Postby SabbeRubbish » 27 Apr 2009 21:14

Hi all,

I am streaming 20 RTP streams to several clients (streaming server not important in this case).
The clients are all VLC on Debian etch.
All RTP streams are identified using a m3u playlist file. They are ordered from 1 to 20 in that file.
I want the client to choose a RANDOM video from the playlist.
I was able to do this using --random a few weeks ago (or maybe that was on Windows - don't remember).
But everytime I start it now, it just starts the first video. Only when I press next, the next video starts randomly, so the client always selects the first stream for first play, which I don't want.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
