Need help with audio devce please

hi, first off i apologise if this topic has already been discussed, i tried search but found nothing.

im wanting to make vlc play all sound in mono, i can manualy select it from the audio drop down menu, but when ever im watching a dvd and it goes onto the next chapter, or i make any kind of playlist, it always sets back to stero, is there anyway to make it stay on mono

all help will be greatly appreciated please
